Get Happy

1. “Happiness is the art of never holding in your mind the memory of any unpleasant thing that has passed.”
Unknown
2.“It isn’t what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.”
Dale Carnegie

Watch what comes and goes in your thinking.  Hold the thoughts that feel good in focus for longer periods of time and consider writing them down for clarity on the blessings that you experience.  You may be pleasantly surprised at all the reasons you find for feeling good.  Expand into the feeling of happiness that greets you!img_6860Photograph by Cindy Weaver  – Santa Fe, NM

  1. Such a good reminder for me – I love my gratitude journal in the evenings before bed. I also need to expand on the length of uninterrupted calm and happiness during the day, when the struggles are REAL 😉 Thanks!!

    1. application is the challenge, no doubt 😊 I think it gets easier with consistent focus and knowing what feeling good is about. When you start actively doing things to feel better, bringing awareness to mood, it becomes easy to identify the desired states of being. When we know what’s desired and what thoughts keep us from that, we can then make the decision to let go of undesirable which makes room for more of what we want! Here’s to getting to that place especially when life is “real” and kids (or adults…. 😱) are having tantrums – today’s the day!
