Listen for 3 distinct sounds.

Follow 3 birds in their flight across your sky.

Feel 3 breaths from complete bottom to the tippy top- through your lungs, muscles and skin.

Speak 3 gratitudes about your life in that moment.

Sit. Breathe. Be. Just for 3.

  1. The sound of water over rocks in a slow and steady movement , birdsong, and Ollie’s tags lightly clinking together as he chews at the grass next to the fallen log supporting my crossed leg recline.

    I haven’t spotted a bird in flight but saw a few hopping branches, an ant along the bark of this log, and the flitting zigzag of yellow swallowtail .

    Inhale the sound of the woodpecker, exhale with the bee at my ear.
    Inhale possibility, exhale worry.
    Inhale freshness, exhale stagnant energy.

    I am thankful for my healthy children. I am thankful for my home. I am thankful for this trail. There are so many blessings here!
